Princess Wonda Drops New Single ‘Lala Le’
After the release of an epic debut album (Fantasy Fair), the multi charted, award nominated Princess of Afrofusion artist Princess Wonda, is back with a new single “LaLa Le ” in July 2022. “Lala Le ” is a Yoruba phrase meaning ‘every night’ and the song is a playful melodic Afro-dancehall inspired singalong.
Princess Wonda has teamed up with an anonymous talented artist also under Dreamer’s Management called ‘Mystr D‘; offering up a fusion of languages from English to Yoruba to Patois. The song was produced by Mr Marz, who was also responsible for some of the hits on Princess Wonda’s album such as ‘iSurrender’ and ‘Bad Girl Original’.
With this summer jam, you can expect fun, dance, party and holiday energy. It lyrics feature the hallmarks of Afrobeats and Dancehall themes such as sexual innuendos, romance and excitement.
About Princess Wonda
Princess Wonda aka ‘The Princess of Afro Fusion‘ real name is Princess Funmilola Fisher was born in southeast London. At the age of 3 herself and her family moved to Ibadan, Nigeria where she lived for 8 years. Princess’ father is a Yoruba man from Abeokuta while her mother is of Benin and Calabar heritage.
They ensured that she embraced all parts of her culture from language to food and history. Princess grew up listening to a mixture of pop legends such as Destiny’s’ Child, Whitney Houston and West African icons Lagbaja, Fela Kuti, Sunny Ade and more. Years later, she returned to southeast London and went on to further her education.
Princess Wonda released her debut album ‘Fantasy Fair’ on 29th October 2021, featuring sounds across Africa including Congolese legend Awilo Longomba, 1da Banton and many more. The album has also charted in the UK at #27 across all genres on iTunes. Her most recent achievements were having her song Bust My Mind being licensed on the hit series “Harlem” on Amazon Prime Video staring Meagan Good, Grace Myers and Whoopi Goldberg. She also toured in Texas USA. performing at various festivals and headlined the Afro Summer Jam in Switzerland,
The superstar is also scheduled to continue her Album World Tour covering Africa in August and ending the year on a high with her own headline show in London.
