AG is still Our Baby: The New Era of Adekunle Gold
If you are a music lover, and afrobeat enthusiast, you must be quite familiar with Adekunle Gold.
In a musical era in which it is mainstream only to hear names such as Burna Boy, Wizkid, or Davido, but do not sleep on Adekunle Gold.
The evolution of AG is one of the most interesting ones to look at musically, from being signed to Olamide’s YBNL Record label, and releasing is well-known singles ‘’Orente’’ and ‘’Sade’’ and being nominated in 2015 at the City People Entertainment Awards in the Most Promising Act of the Year category.
In 2016, AG broke through the music industry with his studio album titled ‘’Gold’’ which peaked #7 on the Billboard World Album Chart.
AG parted ways with YBNL and became an independent artist, in 2018 he blessed ours hears with his highly anticipated album ‘’About 30’’ in which he demonstrated an unprecedented versatility and range while delivering emotional ballads and summer hits mix and matching English and Yoruba together.
AG said about the project: ‘’this album is a reflection of my heart, my fears, my pleasures, my pain, my losses, and my faith,’’ and as listeners, we can guarantee we felt it all.
And now that Afro Pop, Vol. 1 is out, we are excited to see on what journey is Adekunle Gold taking us this time.
